Referral Program Terms

The referral bonus terms, drawn directly from the Official Rules: $25,000 in AI services if your referral wins, single-hop attribution, no cash value.

This page restates the referral terms from Section 7 of the Official Rules, plus the related parts of our Terms of Service. It doesn't add new terms. If anything here differs from the Official Rules, the Official Rules control.

1. Referral links

Each applicant receives a unique referral link.

2. The bonus

If a business referred through your link wins the Grand Prize, the referrer receives $25,000 in AI services.

3. Who the referrer is

The referrer may be an individual or a business entity, at the referrer's election.

4. Scope of services

Referral services are scoped to the referrer's own business. They are not transferable for cash.

5. Single-hop attribution

Only single-hop attribution applies. If A refers B and B refers C, and C wins, only B receives the referral bonus.

6. The referred business must win

The bonus applies only if the referred business wins the Grand Prize. There is no bonus for referred businesses that are shortlisted, become finalists, or apply but don't win.

7. No manipulation

The Terms of Service prohibit attempts to manipulate the scoring system or referral attribution. Submitting false or misleading information is also prohibited.

8. Sponsor decisions

The Official Rules provide that the Sponsor may modify, suspend, or cancel the contest at any time for any reason, and that the Sponsor's decisions are final and binding. The contest is void where prohibited by law.

Practical notes

These notes explain how the program works in practice. They aren't additional terms.

  • Invites from the application form. The application lets you enter a limited number of email addresses to invite. The form shows how many you have left. Each person gets one invitation email from us, mentioning your name.
  • Referrals don't affect judging. Referral activity isn't one of the scoring dimensions in the Official Rules.
  • Taxes. Prizes and bonuses can have tax consequences. Talk to your tax professional.
  • Sharing on social media. If you post your link publicly, be upfront that you could receive a bonus if someone you refer wins. It's the honest thing to do, and it's what advertising rules generally expect when there's something in it for you. See Inviting Other Businesses the Right Way.
